“There’s Septeto for a long time here”

He is one of the most decent on the stage, nevertheless, in the last nine years his bass accompanied Septeto Santiaguero to several stages in Cuba and abroad.

With “Chanchan” and “Los Mangos bajitos” he won his pass to this band that he admired a lot and with which he made his music studies. “I have to admit tat I was a bad student. It wasn’t easy to isolate myself studying, but traditional music has always been in my path and when joined the Septeto, I made my wish come true”.

How hard could be working with Septeto Santiaguero?

The hardest thing is to keep the band’s brand. The Septeto will always be hard because we are eight and we play like we were fourteen (laughing). We are creating all the time an in the last years we have worked a lot for young people. It’s a real challenge but we assume it and enjoy it.

How do you expect the 25th band anniversary?

With a lot of cheerfulness. We are working in a new disc that contains songs, very successful many years ago, so much enjoyed by the audience and you will see.., there will be Septeto for a long time.
